Create a "Living Room" You Can Love Outside
If you're looking to create an outdoor space to entertain or just relax, you don't need alot of time or money. Here are a few simple ways to create a "living room" you can love outside:
1. The Basic Structure. Determine where you want to set up your outdoor living space. Dig a foundation approximately 7 3/4' square. Make sure to check the building codes in your area to make sure you aren't in violation. Create the basic structure using 12 wooden stakes approximately 18" to 24" long. The basic structure is simply the skeleton to build your room upon.
2. A Planter Station. Building off the basic structure, you can set your outdoor space up next to your garden for a shaded planting station. Create a roof with 2'x8' corrugated aluminum sheets. All it takes is tin snips and screws to get the right shape.
3. Rest in Peace. Set up your basic structure under a shaded tree. Hang long paneled curtains on rods around the perimeter of the structure to act as the room's "walls". They can be pulled together for privacy or pushed open to allow the sun or an afternoon breeze to blow through while you lounge on your outdoor recliner. You may even want to think about adding a water feature to help relax you.
4. A Private Bistro Just for You. Build the struture near your home. Create a roof by stretching wires across the roof beams. Use fabrics that are good for outdoors to create a roof and long flowing panels. Some pretty wrought iron furniture, a nice tablecloth and a few plants complete this private eating area.
These are just a few ideas you can use to create a "living room" you can love outside. If you're looking to buy or sell a Ventura County home, let us know.
