There is a risk in trying to rent an apartment after you have filed bankruptcy. Apartment owners may question your capability to pay your monthly rent consistently. This does not mean that you totally lose the privilege of renting a new place. Giving assurance and presenting your current financial situation could help landlords evaluate your application fairly.

  1. 1.Check out apartment rentals. The easiest way to start, would be to contact a local realtor who is familiar with the area. Most apartments work hand-in-hand with real estate agents, and reward them in commissions for bringing tenants. The realtor’s service is often free for the tenant.
