Bigger Pockets Really Does Work!

If I meet any people who are interested in real estate investing, the first place I tell them to go is Bigger Pockets! The site is invaluable not only for all the information it provides, but more importantly, the connections you make here.

As an investor friendly real estate agent in Bergen County, New Jersey, upgrading to Pro was a no=brainer for me.

I met a rookie investor off Bigger Pockets from my hometown of Westwood last year and he just closed on his first investment property!  The house is a 4 bedroom/2 bathroom home which we got an excellent deal on. It was a bank owned home which was the product of a reverse mortgage.  The previous owner was 93 and the house hadn't been occupied in a few years.

The demo is in progress and the renovation should take about 5 weeks to complete. I'll post more pictures of the before and afters along with how the numbers break down once its renovated, listed, and sold.

New Jersey is currently 2nd in the nation in foreclosure rate, so there are deals to be had! Once they hit the MLS though, they often have multiple offers on them so its very important to analyze your After Repair Value and your renovation costs so you don't overpay! This home only last on the market about 3 days and we had to go slightly above list price but it was definitely worth it!
