Newark Investing: The Hassles Continue

Normal 1403363510 Newark City Hall

The City of Newark, New Jersey sure doesn't seem to make it easy for real estate investors to purchase in Newark. We seem to hit snags every step along the way. Now, despite not changing the floor plan or location of any fixtures, the city is now requiring drawings from an architect to be submitted before they will issue any building permits. We wish this would have been clear from the start. We have been waiting easily over a month now for our permits. Technically we are right, but the time it will take to fight City Hall, it is not worth it! At least we'll know for the next flip in Newark. And oh yeah, add another $1200 to the renovation costs for the architect!
