How to Make Time for Social Media Marketing

Many professionals and business owners I talk with have a valid concern about getting started in social media marketing. They feel they don’t have time for it. I understand this. Time is valuable.
I was talking with a girl just a minute ago, and I want to share my reply to her with you. She is in real estate and wants to start engaging clients and prospects more online, which is very smart. But she’s concerned, as so many people are…about how to make time to do all this stuff I talk about. Following is my response to her. Let me know what you think!
Just a matter of integrating it into what you’re already doing. Lifecasting is just a discipline, and it’s powerful, because it enables you to engage with people on a large scale. Previewing a home? Video it. Answering a question by email? Copy and paste it into a post. Repurposing is key. You’re already producing ALL the content you need to share online, so on one hand it takes a lot of time. It does. It also doesn’t take much time at all, because you’re already doing it
Does this jive with how you feel about social media marketing? Do you struggle with how to make time for social media marketing? Let me know what you think!

Great feedback Peter. Much appreciated! Yes, reinventing the wheel for every little piece of content is just not necessary :)

Christian... you have hit the nail on the head. I could never write everything I write and do multiple podcasts or get started video blogging if I had to create everything from scratch each time. No one can! And Nick... not only does it free up more time... but I believe it gives you a certain edge because you have to be immersed in the topic continually, constantly improving your game with each step.

You hit on an awesome point Nick. Your blog is a great marketing tool, yes. But it's also a great time-saving device. I refer people back to my blog all the time also. You're absolutely right...it takes time to build up content on a blog, of course, but in the long run it serves as a huge asset to you AND your clients.

I think it's a great response! I used to struggle with what to blog about until I saw that same statement about being asked questions. I would quickly answer it and then make a blog about it. If that person had that question, then others would or will too. This way, I can easily direct them to that blog post without being feeling like I'm NOT answering the question or being distant with the response. I feel making time for social media will actually free up more time than most people are thinking its going to take away from them!
