First Steps

I want to know what the very first steps in real estate investing are. Our dream is to flip houses, specifically older and historic homes, for a profit. I will be unemployed in a couple weeks, so I will have complete time to devote to this project. We don't have any cash to toss into this at the moment...we would be relying on some sort of bank loan or other financing. We've been at a bit of a standstill since we both had full time jobs overseas, and honestly, I have no idea how to jump in. 

I'm hoping to get this feed started and then ask questions as it progresses. I have so many at the moment, I'm overwhelmed.
