"It never hurts to ask!"

"It never hurts to ask!"

I hope everyone on this site has either heard or used that term atleast once in their life. This phrase is a very broad general phrase that could be used in just about any type of context.

You want extra sauce with your Happy Meal? Just ask.

THE LEAST THEY CAN SAY IS NO!!!!!

No harm, no fowl.

I used to have a FEAR of potential answers I could get to questions I wasn't sure I should be asking. I think fear is the main contributing factor for people to keep questions inside and miss out on opportunities for answers.

My turning point:

I was young, me and a couple buddies had just got out of the water from an amazing surf session in Outer Banks, NC. We were 5 teenage surf bums who were exhausted and wanted nothing else but a premium meal from one of the local restaurants. We picked The Jolly Roger's because it was still breakfast time and it was quick so we could get back into the water. Being the surf bums we were, clothes were at the bottom of our priority list as long as we had our boardshorts and surf board.

Luckily everyone but 1 of my friends had the essential "shirt and shorts" attire to get into the restaurant. We couldn't leave one behind while we indulged ourselves inside so we looked everywhere for a shirt for my friend. With no luck we began to count our losses and think of other options. (fast food, BLAH).

Then, my friend without a shirt, ran over to a construction worker on the side of the road and ASKED to use his safety vest so he could get into the restaurant and eat.

WHAT THE HELL was he thinking?!?! You can't just ask someone working to use their vest so you could eat breakfast!!!!!

or could you?!

Sure enough, he came back with nothing but a safety vest and we ate a delicious breakfast and had an awesome day surfing. When we asked him what he asked the lady working, and what she said, ( you know all the juicy details). His simple answer,

"It never hurts to ask, the worst thing she could say was no."

That simple answer is something that I am constantly reminding myself oh in my day to day life. Whether it be for the extra sauce or for my closing cost being covered on my next investment property, a lower price, lower insurance deductibles, or private funding. This one simple phrase has given me many opportunities and dividends throughout my life.

Why wouldn't you ask? THE LEAST THEY CAN SAY IS NO!!!

What type of experiences and opportunities have you had and gained from because you weren't afraid to ask? Leave in the comments below !
