In the Beginning

I'm a professional project manager.  Currently I'm working a project 6 hrs away.  I leave early Monday mornings and return home late Thursday nights.  I've got a pregnant wife and two small children at home.  This is not sustainable, so a couple of months ago I turned to may wife and said, "Let's be rich."  She was all for it, but how?

The following week a conversation starts at work about buy and hold real estate.  It turns out that one of my colleagues does this near his home in Michigan. 

Since then I have been reading and researching and stumbled across this site.  I have also been saving my seed.  I've been talking to family and people at work and church.  I've found potential team members and I have a 15 year plan to get 20 properties.  That timeline is very conservative, but I'll need partners to make it move faster.

I've actually gotten commitments from a couple of investors for around $40,000... for my second deal, and then they might up it.  Until I can pull off my first deal, I will continue to study, make contacts, save, and plan.
