3 Helpful Winter Projects for your house

It’s winter time, a time for staying indoors, to catch up on some of those pesky inside projects that everyone keeps postponing during the Spring & Summer.

The most common projects that will make a great improvement to your property are.

  • 1)Remodel your basement. Do you have a dated or depressing unfinished basement that has no purpose? Perhaps it would make a good spare bedroom, or an epic home theatre. Either way, remodeling your basement is a proven method to increase your homes living space as well as your home value.
  • 2)Upgrade furnace. Is your furnace fifteen years or older? It might be time for an upgrade. You might think this is a costly upgrade, however, you will probably lower your utility bills. Installing a new furnace isn’t inexpensive, given the potential savings you’ll see it’s a project worth considering. The average homeowner spends over $4,000.00 to install a new furnace, how much will depend on the size of your house, the brand & it efficiency rating.
  • 3)Hire a Handyman. Every project in a house is not huge, however, many will fall through the cracks & we simply do not have the time to do everything. When you hire a handyman, have a list of projects ahead of time & see what price you can agree to before they start. Projects can include weatherproofing windows & doors, gutter cleaning, general plumbing updates, possibly paint a room. The cost will depend on the project & materials but a fresh coat of paint, a clean carpet can always add value.
