Worth it or not?

I am a Realtor/Investor and I have a request to try to locate any rentals or SFR 3/1 or more that take section 8 vouchers in Will county and Dupage county in Illinois . I have been assisting individuals trying to locate these properties and little luck. If possible I am looking to get an investor or current landlord that has any open rental SFR or apartment in those 2 counties.

This missed opportunity in the suburbs is a god sent for an opportunist that has the know how and knowledge to achieve housing for the voucher program giving them an opportunity to achieve the American dream of independence. I have not come to any understanding why this is not an over used service that investors and landlords have not dwelled in.

I am hoping with this beginning blog I myself and others can come to understand why this isn't one of the forefronts of our industry. The housing market is still strong even while its a sellers market in Chicago-land the rental market is hot especially for the middle lower and lower income folks trying to get their own piece of the pie. With your help please assist myself and others to explain the lack of and therefore little to no knowledge of how to get into the opportunity of owning multiple housing units to build up a portfolio in the subsidized government housing market.

  1. Great topic Richard, I'd be interested in hearing why this hasn't taken off outside Cook County.
