Glenn Sanford : Let Your Website Work For You

During the advent of the internet, a lot of people didn’t really think about the potential world-wide communication and the idea of putting up a website can bring. While the concept of connecting millions of people through the net started to take root in the minds of some entrepreneurs, others were already taking advantage of the changes that the internet brought along. Some put up their own website. While others take advantage of the website that others put up. Glenn Sanford was one of the people who maximized and capitalized on these changes and on technology. While others whine about the differences and the complications setting up a website has introduced, Glenn learned and studied and applied what he had learned.

Some people start out almost tragically in the real estate business, Glenn’s real estate career was off to a good start in 2002. He used what he had learned from the internet start-up companies and his stint with AOL and applied the knowledge to his real estate endeavor. He set up his own website and in 4 short years, Glenn Sanford’s team rose to become one of the top 50 teams of Keller Williams on a national level. His team closed a whopping $60,000,000.00 in real estate almost solely from online lead generation alone. The question ringing through everybody’s heads now is, “How did he do it?”

When agents go online, they utilize the aid of existing lead generating websites. What they tend to ignore or forget is that these websites are being used by countless others with the same goal. So, one suggestion from Glenn Sanford is to invest in a decent website. Make your website attractive, informative and relevant. Most agents who have websites think that as long as they have their websites up, it’s ok. It’s not ok. You have to remember that you must make your tools work for you. Your website is one of the most powerful tools that you can use. Your website can be a lead source. Get people’s emails and contact information. Observe the trend. Which picture or listing is most viewed online? What are the things that people were looking at? Make the content of your website relevant. Next, market and advertise. The most basic concept of the internet is to connect people. Create links that will take your prospects to your website. Make sure you generate traffic. If you have to use Search Engine Optimization, you may invest in it. Get a back end portal to measure your own stats and monitor your own leads. These are just the basics but this will already allow you to generate leads by yourself without relying on a website that is being utilized by different agents. You become your own lead source. The more leads you have, the more chances of being able to pitch and make a sale. Start with these concepts and work your way up. Update your site regularly and always make sure that you update yourself with what buyers want as well. All your frustrations will gradually step out your front porch.

Now, Glenn Sanford is the CEO of eXp Realty – an Agent-Owned Brokerage with over 600 agents in 30 states. This agent-focused company has been working on attracting and retaining their agents and it’s working. Glenn was quick to remind everyone though that in every business, customers must always come first. Some people may complain that there are buyers who are too demanding and there are buyers who keep changing their minds. They need to be reminded that these people are still buyers. Without them, there will be no industry. “Buyers are some of the best people you’ll ever work with in the industry.” They are the reason we are here.
