Getting Started

Hello BP!

I'm excited to start writing a bit about my journey in REI.  I'm a total novice, knowing next to nothing other than what I hear from friends, have read on the BP Blog, and slowly start to find out as I progress through this journey.  I hope to use this blog for a few things

- Detail out my progression

- Seek feedback on what I'm working on

- Find other members who might be willing to help

I'm currently in low level management for a medium sized company here in the Phoenix metro area.  It's fun (and it pays well!) but I'm no longer convinced that just socking money away in my 401k or trying to outguess the stock market will provide for my family long term.  I have 14 month old triplets, so finding new ways to bring home the bacon is rather important!

I've always thought to myself that I'd want to rent houses to people at some point in my life.  I've had friends who've done it, and I've done it once before for my mother.  It always seemed like something I'd do once I was already rich.  However, one sleepless night I was on Flipboard and came across a BP article - and was immediately hooked.  I've now realized that the time to start this business is not years away - but right around the corner.

And so, that's why I'm here.   I've got a plan in place to begin in the rental business and am working at gathering the capital I'll need to get started.  I hope that this blog will keep me motivated and educated on what I'll need to do to be successful.

Thanks for reading,

Chris
