If you have a good contractor, go with tile!

If you have a good contractor that offers reasonable pricing on his services, then go with tile in kitchens and baths. You can get a decent ceramic tile at Home Depot or Lowe's for about $.69 a ft and some vinyls will run you more than that.

Putting tile in a house is a good investment in a rehab because there is a better return than the actual cost of installation. It adds that little touch that most people find appealing in today's times. And when the other investors are putting in their vinyl it makes your investment more appealing.

  1. Thanks Tracy. We have been having this discussion on the forums lately. Have you ever done a long term cost benefit analysis of tile versus vinyl?
