What Realtors Should NOT Do!

As Realtors, we have seen and heard other Realtors act in ways that may not be appropriate for a professional.

Here is our list of 9 Things You Should Not Be Doing As A Realtor ~

1. Call your past clients weekly to ask for a referral. Sure you should keep in contact, but don't ask for referrals each time.

2. At social get-togethers, hand your business cards to everyone there, including the service staff. There's a time and place for networking, and not every social occasion should be a business call.

3. Act like a race-car driver with your clients in your car. Your clients are watching your every move so don't' let them see your bad habits.

4. Tape your business cards to the top of a gift at a party. Tacky, tacky, tacky.

5. Say nasty remarks about your competition to your clients. They don't need to hear about other Realtors. You are selling yourself only.

6. Talk to everyone about how great you are. Clients will decide how great you are, and if you are they will be a great source of referral business.

7. Discuss your personal problems with your clients. You should know it's not professional to talk about your personal life...leave that for those who already know you and care.

8. List a home on MLS and put all the photos upside down or list without any photos. No photos or unclear photos will not increase your business.

9. Contact your family and friends only when you’re looking for business. They already know what business you are in, and will refer you when and if they want to.

There are many more mistakes that Realtors shouldn't be doing that will not win them a continued source of new business. Stay tuned for our next list.

In the meantime, Be Smart ~ Be Professional!
