UPCOMING AT THE PHIL...

Entertainment in every sense of the word is happening at the Philharmonic Center for the Arts in during the next few weeks.  There will be classical music and comedy, cabaret and ballet, dialogue and opera, as well as Broadway and inspiration.  Starting it all off is the opera, Rigoletto, with the conductor of the New York City Opera, Steven White, and the Philharmonic Orchestra on Saturday, February 27.  Then on March 1, the Moscow Festival Ballet and their cast of fifty will be performing the ballet, Coppelia.  This full-length production is the story of a mystical toymaker who attempts to bring his doll to life, and is considered to be one of the best comic ballets written.  The next night two different shows will go on stage.  Chubby Checker, together with Lou Christie, will be doing their oldies thing for one night only on the Center stage, while the captivating cabaret star, Karen Akers, will be entertaining audiences for two nights, March 2 & 3, at the newly refurbished Daniels Pavilion at the Phil.  Also on Wednesday, March 3, the Pulitzer Prize-winning humorist and bestselling author...http://chrisanddick.wordpress.com
