Making Time Instead of Making Excuses

Normal 1577378206 Capture

Our previous podcast guest mentioned that his dad was hard worker, he was a welder, he always worked hard and he had some rental properties as well, so as a child he was around him, but what he did was, he would do everything himself, so you'll find the up the property do the rehab, the maintenance, pretty much-doing everything, and he remembers his father telling him, hen you get older, you need to buy some houses, buy some real estate, buy some houses and at that time he didn't want to be underneath the sink, like is this is his picture of houses, is being underneath the sink and doing this kind of repairs and he just didn't want to do that.

So he ended up being underneath hoods because he wanted to go work for a BMW, so he did that because he wanted to find something quick, something that would have taken four years a traditional four-year college, so he decided something that was one that year and a half two years at most and then you can start making somebody quickly after that. So he went to go work for BMW, he did that for a good while, but during that time, he got married with three kids and so he was all-time at work and not time with his kids and that's the same thing that his dad was kind of doing with him. Where he didn't really spend time with his family, it was all about work and business with him, and so it was more of a what can he do at this point to be able to create some more time, some passive income and that's when he got his start into the real estate.

Still, he was working all day long, pretty much leaving the house at six o'clock 6:30 and then and then getting home at 7 o'clock or 8:00, so it was long hours for sure, but he found time during his lunch hour right there, he dumped his brakes and that's when instead of being on his phone and just chit-chatting, he was on the phone making calls and that's the kind of things that he was doing. He tried to use his time wisely, because he really wanted to make it work and really wanted to make it happen and, so just kind of those excuses they come up, but you got to push them out the way and that's kind of the way it was for him. All the weekends you can be doing something else, like hanging out and just drinking or going out whatever you want to do or you could be spending your time wisely and educating yourself and learning and listen to podcasts, there's always time and you use that time to your best advantage.
