'10 Q1 Stats: Rents on the rise...

Q1 rent stats are in (from Reis) and it looks like trends are up - with Memphis near the head of the pack at 1%... always a good thing for investors holding rental properties.  You think this trend will continue?  Is your market leading or lagging?   http://curiouscapitalist.blogs.time.com/2010/04/07/quick-sign-a-new-lease-rents-are-poised-to-rise/?xid=rss-topstories

  1. Do you think there is a correlation between apartment rent increases and single family home rent increases? If so, how close?

  2. I think we will see the trend continue as so few new apartments and lower end homes have been built in the past 2 years. Especially in the areas that are still seeing population growth and job market recovery.
