Denver Luxury Homes: Sales Up In January

Some more positive news for was reported on in the Denver Business journal today. Highlighting the latest sales numbers, Denver Luxury home sales (homes over $1 million) increased by 12 percent from January of 2012.

From the Denver Business Journal:

Buyers bought 28 such homes last month, compared to the 25 sold in January 2012. Those homes were worth $40.8 million, a 14 percent increase over the dollar volume moved in the same month last year.

The average sales price for those home increased slightly year-over-year, from $1.43 million in 2012 to $1.46 million. The average days on the market continued to fall, from 239 in January 2012 to 214 last month.

This report comes on the same day that numbers for the broader market of all increased for the 11th straight month.

It was almost a clean sweep for increasing Denver-area home prices in 2012: December marked 11 straight months of year-over-year price gains, according to the CoreLogic Inc. December home price index report released Tuesday.

Those prices for the Denver-Aurora-Broomfield area grew 9.5 percent in December from a year earlier, including all distressed property sales, the report states. Though prices slid slightly from November to December, 0.5 percent, that’s normal for the annual seasonal slowdown.
