    @Michael H. there is no license to be approved for 203k work. Your lender just needs to approve them for that work. Texas does not have licensing for anything other than electrical, plumbing, and hvac. My guess is your lender just wants someone experienced with insurance. They could also require bonding depending on how large the project is.
