I’d start by deciding what type of rental you’re looking for and making sure your financing is lined up before looking at properties. Once you know your budget and loan options, focus on neighborhoods with strong rental demand and analyze deals conservatively by factoring in vacancy, maintenance, taxes, insurance, and reserves. Having a clear buy box before you start shopping makes the process much easier.
