I am looking to purchase my first multifamily investment property to BRRRR/househack in Massachusetts. Looking to connect with lenders, agents, contractors, and other investors!

Good move getting the team together before buying. I'd talk to a few investor-friendly lenders and contractors and really compare their numbers before settling on a deal. I'd also keep out-of-state on the table, especially the Midwest. The Midwest markets have some lower-entry-price multifamily opportunities where BRRRR and house hacking can pencil out a lot easier than in MA, especially if you have a solid team on the ground.
Hey Cameron, smart move building the team before you're chasing a deal.
I'm an investor-first Realtor based in the Boston area. I own 17 units across 5 buy & hold deals myself — started with a single-family in Revere back in 2020, now multifamily in Worcester and Warren — so I look at properties through the investor lens. Licensed in MA, RI, and NH with Candor Investment Group (eXp Realty).
For a MA BRRRR/house hack, the two hires that matter most: an investor-friendly lender who actually knows owner-occupied multifamily financing, and contractors who show up. Happy to connect you with people in my network and talk through which markets in your budget are still penciling out.

Hi Cameron, congratulations on getting started with your first multifamily investment. I’m an investor and lender, and I’d be glad to connect and learn more about what you’re looking to acquire in MA. Happy to connect and see if I can be a resource on the financing side as you identify the right property.
Hey Cameron, exciting to see you getting started! Since you're considering both BRRRR and house hacking, I'd compare the financing requirements for each before choosing a property.
Owner-occupied multifamily financing can look quite different from investment property loans, especially when it comes to down payments and renovation requirements.
Have you narrowed down your budget or the areas in Massachusetts where you're looking to buy?
Cameron — good to see this thread picking back up. On the BRRRR vs house-hack question for your first one in Brockton: the BRRRR path only works if the refi math is real at today's rates, not hoped-for rates. For a first multifamily, the house-hack route is usually the safer way in — you live in one unit, the other rents carry the mortgage, and you don't need the deal to appraise up on command. I've done both across MA (17 units now), happy to walk through how the numbers pencil on the types of properties you're pre-approved for. DM me anytime.
