The City of Shasta Lake has fully embraced pot growing, and is allowing it in the industrial park. 

There seems to be a strong desire to embrace and maintain the ethnic/cultural character of this neighborhood and precluding predicted gentrification in the area with the development of the MetroHealth complex.

From the left, there is an argument that it drives up neighborhood prices (I happen to believe this/worry about it for certain zip codes) and for the right, there's a reticence to embrace change and, consequent, fear of pot smokers and partiers.
