Doug Heim Would you trust your agent to refer an agent in a different market?
26 February 2026 | 2 replies
You asked if you would trust your agent to refer you to another agent in a different market or out-of-state and if the agents pay referral fees to each other when doing this.Yes, this does happen as people relocate to deferent towns or states and agents want to refer their clients to a local agent they trust will take care of their clients. In fact, one of our best referral partners sends us doctors from around the country who want to invest in real estate in Michigan and we pay a referral fee for that. Also pretty common for attorneys to have similar arrangements with each other. To Your Success!

Using the advice from Brandon Turner's book, I've been trying to evaluate a deal a day to exercise the muscle.Considering housing prices in my area are quite high, I may try to relocate back to Minnesota in the next year or two, and I would like to save $10k-$15k more to invest in my first deal (currently have about $25k saved to invest in the future), I feel like I'm in limbo with my REI journey. For those of you who are further along in your investment journey, where would you go from here?
