Pocket or whisper listings are legal but only advantageous for specific markets or properties, from my experience unless there is a privacy concern or other rationale - restricting public exposure of any listing rarely benefits the owner.

Is the asking or whisper price remotely reasonable based on sellers financials?

They are super modern, absolutely whisper quiet inside and make travelling very cheap and easy. 

Unless there's other reasons to continue working with that bank, as the Bank Whisperer, I'd be concerned with the bank asking similar questions throughout the process and ultimately telling you at the last minute they can't do the deal.
