Personally, I'd rather compile a list from whatever sources I tap into (I guess that would include driving) and do, or delegate, the research in the office.

By the way, when you present them to this do not try to pass it as an official appraisal...just let the seller know you have compiled some data to support your offer.

While most of the ones in CA know me because of my liquidity services, I am not in the business of providing fiduciary services for others and have mostly shunned the opportunity to be alligator wrestler/administrator anymore due to the rigors sometimes required.No doubt you'd be able to either buy, rent or compile your own list of trustees in your state.

Who compiles this list, and at what stage after the death?

We never had this until we were asked one day, but even without them we were able to say give me a min and compile pictures that we all had personally and landed the deal.
