Because of COVID supply issues, contractor availability, and sorting things out with insurance, the work is just taking far longer than anyone could have possibly anticipated.Eventually things got moving, and on the repair side, the drywall and painting is done, and the vanity will be replaced within the next few days, giving him a fully functional bathroom.

As @Kyle Mccaw mentions many we see don't make sense for most people, but some owners are on a corporate rotation plan and may just rent it out temporarily while out of town 3-5 years or have some intention to come back to the house.
