I'm a 40-hours-per-week employee in Southern California, but have held an out-of-state single family rental property since 2009. I would say I pretty much stumbled into obtaining that property...but have now finally realized what a great thing it was. I love owning it, and want to obtain at least a few more properties in various other parts...
