Newish to the investment world yet do own a single family home that has had consistent renters in it since 2017. I originally purchased a home in Kansas City and moved out of state for my job and retained the home since 2018. While it's not always easy, I have enjoyed the process of making improvements to the home via my local team. After having our first child last June, I am more bullish to scale my business. I purchased a small multi-family property right before my child was born in May and have been helping oversee renovations from afar along side my property manager (who's also my Mom!). We're excited to add another multi-family to the portfolio in late 2025 which will increase the contributions to my son's college and savings accounts. The goal is to add one property per year or every 18 months and help get her to retirement faster and us more financial flexibility.
