I'm an investor living in Los Angeles, but originally from Iowa. My first purchase was a duplex in my home town in 2012, quickly followed by my personal residence in Los Angeles. I picked up two condos near my duplex within the next year and a half. A year later I purchased a 3 property deal in Des Moines from another investor with renters in place. Cut to this year where I've closed on 2 Airbnb condos in Scottsdale, AZ and just purchased a vacation home just north of Los Angeles (which has done very well for us in just under a year!) So far in 2019 I’ve picked up 2 more SFR, and was able to sell my first duplex for a large profit(wasn’t even listed, they gave me an offer that I couldn’t refuse). Looking for a great place to move those proceeds. UPDATE: So far I've purchased 2 more SFRs that combined will cashflow more right now than my duplex would have after the mortgage would have been paid off. I'm still holding funds for around 2-3 more! I'm always on the hunt for my next deal. Would love to connect with other investors from all walks of life.
