We live in Pleasant Garden(Greensboro) NC, but we lived in Utrera(Seville), Spain for over 13 years. My husband and I met when I studied abroad during college. Our 3 children were born in Spain. After reading Rich Dad I started looking online about real estate investing. I stumbled upon a Canadian website, and later on Brandon Turner's other website for younger investors, and then to Bigger Pockets. What a great website this is! We own our house in Spain, but it is under water - victim of the housing crisis. We bought at the height of the market. It is now rented - it pays for half of our mortgage. We are now living in our house that we own free and clear in Pleasant Garden, North Carolina. I love learning, and I've started my real estate education that will hopefully become our primary source of income in five years. I've been reading BP blogs, listening to podcasts and webinars, reading the Ultimate Beginners Guide, reading the blog articles that are tweeted daily, buying and reading the books of BP members like Brandon Turner, Karen Rittenhouse, and J Scott, and books that BP recommends like The 10X Rule, The One Thing, The Millionaire Real Estate Investor, Getting Things Done, etc. Now is the time to take action! We are now meeting local real estate investors, agents, bankers, possible partners, etc. and starting to network to primarily buy and hold, and possibly flip. Update 2019: We completed our first flip! We made money and are super happy to have been successful on our first flip.
