Hi BP! I first learned about Bigger Pockets when investigating whether or not I wanted to sell our rent out my primary residence (a townhouse in a very good rental market). I had no prior interest in real estate investing, I was just trying to do my homework on whether or not my home would make a good rental once my family and I decided to move on from it. After digging in, I realized there is this whole world of real estate investing out there, and I found that I was captivated learning bit by bit about how it works. I’m just getting started, so I declare myself in an “educational” phase. Not quite ready to take action yet, but really excited to jump in and get more comfortable. For now, this is a hugely daunting process that seems terribly risky to me - but doesn’t everything that’s new and unfamiliar feel that way? I can’t wait to develop a new skill set and get fluent in this new language of real estate investing. I currently live in Folsom, California, which is part of greater Sacramento. I currently work full time as an airline pilot. I love my job, and one of my favorite things about it is that it affords me a lot of time to do other things, for example: learning about real estate investing! I’m interested in long term buy-and-hold single family homes. My current goal is to have 3 rental properties in the next 10 years. (Measly, I know!). Markets that I have an interest in and also have connections to include Indianapolis and Lafayette/West Lafayette Indiana, and Buffalo, New York. I look so forward to hearing your stories and advice!
