Newbie real estate investor looking for like minded folks. I am enamored with those that have ventured out and made this a successful part of their lives, to which I want to emulate. For the past couple of years I have been searching for "my passion" and have surprisingly stumbled upon real estate as something I find super enjoyable and tangible. I am very analytical, so researching the steps, the components and bringing together all the pieces is very fitting for me. I have had a couple of key people in my life that have included Real Estate as part of their lives. With it grew my curiosity over time. The first time I heard about Real Estate as an income stream was with my Government teacher in High School years ago. I really respected her and stayed behind on Friday after school to chat when she shared her "secret", I was floored! A seed was planted. Second, my former college room mate. Once he graduated and saved for a couple of years, he bought himself a duplex. While everyone else was partying and trying to keep up with the Jone's he was saving to start something for his future. Lastly, my parents. They purchased a home near me in Austin TX area as their future retirement abode, but life got in the way and retirement date got pushed back. So, there sat a house empty and un-inhabited... We decided to get tenants while I managed it and low and behold... it has been easier than foreseen! It's going well for them while they get closer to retirement to finally move in.
