My wife and I purchased our second investment property this year in the form of a single family buy and hold in the Kansas City area. We hope to purchase a third property next year. I am a commercial electrician and my wife works in property management. We have one daughter and one son. Our ultimate goal is to continue our modest standard of living while we build our portfolio, so that we can CHOOSE when and how to work at age 50. My parents, who have worked hard and saved their whole lives, are struggling to retire comfortably at a decent age. We realized we have to do more than work hard and save to achieve the freedom we want.
