Andy Madden

I am an individual investor focused on small to mid-size (2 - 19 unit) multi-family properties in the city of Pittsburgh. I began investing in July 2011 by purchasing and living in a 3-unit property. Since then, I've acquired 4 additional multi-family properties using the BRRRR method. In December 2018 I achieved "Phase 1" of Financial Independence, and was able to leave my full-time W2 job to pursue real estate investing full-time. I am now focused on acquiring additional multi-family properties in select Pittsburgh neighborhoods, using available funds from my Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) and Self-directed IRA (SDIRA). I am an investor with a long-term, buy and hold focus. My criteria for purchasing properties is primarily driven by specific cash flow metrics and value-add opportunities. As a now full-time investor, I look forward to sharing my experiences with others interested in financial freedom, buy-and-hold investing, and long-term wealth accumulation. I also look forward to networking with and finding ways to bring value to others on BP who are involved in the Pittsburgh real estate community!
