I’ve reached a point in the last year or two where I’ve come across a number of milestones: I sent my older daughter to college, turned 50, finished saving for my younger daughter to go to college, crossed that magic $1 million number in retirement savings, bought my first investment property, and retired early. In my career as an IT executive, I led over 3,000 people and managed $1 billion in budgets, $800 million in operating budgets and $200 million in projects. Now I’m going to build a new business by growing my portfolio of multi-family apartments through syndication. I love to learn new things, even to the point of taking Suzuki piano lessons in my 40’s. I relish whatever outdoor activities I can do to stay in shape. Sometimes that’s running a marathon or bicycling across the country, but most recently it was hiking 700 miles on the Appalachian Trail. And of course, I love to travel and be in business with my girls!
