Nearly 20 years on the lender side of CRE, most of it leading GSE multifamily asset management — portfolio oversight, credit risk, and loss mitigation on non-performing deals. I worked with everyone from the largest institutional owners in the country to small and mid-sized operators, and the real gap between them wasn't necessarily real estate know-how — it was time, budgets, staff, and how much visibility they had into their own portfolio day to day. Scaling operators were the ones most reliant on third-party managers just to stay informed. That's the gap I'm focused on now: turning documents, financial analysis, and covenant tracking into something less manual.
