I'm a long-time studier of real estate investing, but only started investing in 2014. Hoping to build a team and a portfolio that gives me passive income to retire on. Focusing on buy and hold deals. Experience: My wife and I purchased a duplex in 2014 in our own town and during the duplex rehab noticed the grass grown up around the SFH next door. That property turned out to be an REO that we purchased for a good deal. I ramped up the education by reading BP and books starting in early 2016 and after much looking for a deal we closed on our second duplex in July 2017. In 2018 we moved to a new personal residence. The listing agent bought our old house and we bought hers! So now we have six units. Real Estate Goals: $5000 per month of passive income is a nice round number for a starting goal and that amount would go relatively far in our area. Would love to be there in the next five to ten years and go from there. SFH and small multi-family are what I understand right now, but will keep my mind open to other types of investments.
