After graduating college in 2004. I started out in real estate as a traditional agent. In 2006 I became a broker and transitioned into bank owned real estate. It wasn't until 2011 when we bought our first fix and flip that the real estate investing part of my life began. Over the next few years, we went from 1 house to 50. In 2015, we flipped 15 properties and I was doing everything. I was the agent in charge of acquisitions, the general contractor, the designer and stager along with my wife, I would photograph the properties and relist them for sale. When someone wouldn't show up, I would have to. There is always something people leave for the end that is hard to outsource so it would always land on my plate. I was a real estate flipping maniac quickly losing my mind. I realized things would need to change. I needed to set up systems, hire people to execute and scale if I were to continue the growth. In order to grow, I would need to raise more capital. So in 2016, I found a private equity firm that soon became my partner in the business. With our funding in place, I began building systems and software to streamline and automate the business. So over the past few years we have worked to automate our acquisition strategy and the management of the projects. We have been able to wholesale and rehab both in the state of Connecticut and in over 25 other states nationwide. We virtually rehab and wholesale properties that we never physically see and we do this from our office in Avon, CT. That being said, I have realized along this journey that it is very difficult to scale a house flipping business across the country by myself and that virtually rehabbing houses is sometimes quite insane because it is not always very efficient or scalable. So recently I made a shift to working more with real estate agents in various markets to help in acquiring new properties.
