Build a few custom homes for myself while having a successful non-RE related career. CHECK. Help my ex buy a property in Thailand. CHECK. Help a friend buy a property in Costa Rica. CHECK. Buy up properties in a state with the best numbers (Michigan). Includes SFRs, STRs, Multi-family, Commercial, focused on SFRs because the #s are best there. Renovate, full gut, flip or rent. CHECK. Why? Because it's fun & it's cheaper than a gym membership. Next To Dos: Maybe invest in a different US location, another "pod" of rentals. Maybe invest in a different country, currently looking at Toronto, Canada and a few EU locations. Maybe find an architect who can build me a unique design based on how our way of living has shifted. Or I could just be normal and retire, going jet skiing all summer and snow skiing all winter. I joined Bigger Pockets to see how the pros do this. I am *not * a pro, not by any stretch of the imagination. Currently wrapping up my pod of rentals in Michigan, turning over to a property manager and/or selling the "extras".
