I'm the wife of a real estate investor. Because of health issues in the family I took over the responsibilities of this business a little over a year ago. This is out of my comfort zone! My husband was better at acquiring property then maintaining it and I've found myself responsible for upgrading many of our units (several single family homes, several condos, and a 70 unit senior apartment building). It is almost a daily struggle to deal with tenants and the people I hire to do upgrades and routine maintenance. At this point in my life I am not interested in acquiring new properties but instead focusing on becoming debt-free (and not losing everything!)
