I'm a homeowner/homesharer who has been renting/house-hacking my place on Air BnB for the past few years. Now I'm looking to do something with that additional income. Looking to learn more about real estate investing to buy another place to furnish and rent out as furnished 30+ day occupancy units to avoid transient lodging tax laws. I think this is an ideal niche for this area given the housing shortage and amount of professionals: professors, travel nurses, grad students, moving into and out of the area. I just don't know how I am going to go about it yet and looking to absorb any information I can find so I don't make a big 'oops'. I have been the president of the HOA where I live for a few years now and have earned my beginners badge in HOA management.
