Hi got my real estate license in February, 2020, just in time to do nothing with it, thanks to Covid. I am also a small business owner, not your typical one, as I own and operate a DJ & Special Events company in the NY tri-state area. I graduated Baruch College in 1988 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. When I graduated college, the economy sucked, with companies like IBM laying off 40,000 employees at a time. I decided then that I would never become a slave to corporate America as I would never allow a company to simply fire me after giving them 20+ years of loyalty and hard work. I'm a big kid, 55 years old, who feels, thinks and sometimes behaves more like a 25 year old. I entertain mostly at weddings & young teen events. My job is to motivate, energize and engage humans who are distracted by life. My Monday-Friday schedule is pretty open as I can schedule my crews and send out contracts when I simply feel like it. I joined a gym in 2013 for the first time since the 80s and have learned about setting personal goals, discipline. I lost 40 pounds of fat and put on 10 pounds of muscle. I now am at that stage in my life where "retirement" is on the horizon and I need to make and bank a decent amount of money to finance my retirement and to support my family. I believe that real estate is the best way for your average person to achieve the goals I am aiming for. I bought a 3-family home in 1988 and had a horrendous experience. I was 22-years-old. Tenants thought I was some rich kid. I wasn't. I saved my money and bought the home. They decided to stop paying rent. I had to sell the house at a short-sale to avoid foreclosure. That experience has colored my view of real estate and especially low-life tenants. Any future investing would have to utilize a management company to weed out the garbage.
