I am an investor located in the Twin Cities. As of now my rental properties include a 4-unit and a 6-unit. Both of these properties are rented through Minnesota’s Housing Support program (GRH) for people who used to be homeless. I am more conservative than the average commenter on Bigger Pockets. I have built my investment property ownership over time. Other people will be wealthier than I am. However, this plan fits my personality. I believe in a diversified approach which includes a combination of real estate and 401(k) savings. I realize the numbers would favor a self directed 401(k) focused on real estate, but the diversified approach helps me sleep best at night. I have always wanted to use my rental properties to find the balance between becoming wealthy and giving back. My goals include owning 4 small multi-family properties, which include units dedicated to social work programs. (Group homes, etc.) I am always searching for ways to expand my ownership. My goal is to have the ability to retire early. I may not actually retire early, but I want the option.
