I am a real estate agent and an investor. I specialize in working with homebuyers and first-time investors who need guidance and education about the real estate market here in DFW to make a successful purchase! I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, and lived there my whole life until my wife and I moved to Dallas, Texas in 2018 for sunny weather and new investment opportunities. Since moving here we have grown our rental portfolio in Dallas and plan to continue to add many more rental properties to our portfolio over the years while we build a family in this great state! I believe the best first investment for most people is simply buying their own home or a small multi-family and renting the rooms or units out to friends, family or strangers. The trick in implementing this strategy is in picking the correct property that works as both a personal residence and a soon to be full-fledged rental. While this strategy isn't for everyone it is a great way to get your feet wet without going all the way in the deep-end. You can learn a lot of the pitfalls of real estate on a small scale and prepare yourself for a bigger investment down the road.
