Craig Jackson

I'm a 42 year old black male. I was born in Newnan, Georgia and have one older brother. Business and real-estate runs deep in my blood, On my fathers side, my grandfather was a very successful business man. In the 1940's and 50's he owned commercial real-estate, a pool hall, and shotgun houses which he rented out until his passing. At the time of his passing, my dad was a very young kid and was catapulted into the world of real estate but was too young to handle the difficulties with upkeep, maintenance, and collections and eventually his mom was forced to sale. On my mom's side, my grandfather was a very successful carpenter and builder, building houses all over the country. Although, both my mom and dad were both subjected to the vast world or real-estate neither or them pursued it. However, I did have an uncle who was a carpenter that would briefly tell me about real estate from the cassette tapes he purchased from infomercials in the 80's. He would always mention his big plans to invest, however 30+ years later never has, yet has managed to hold on to the cassette tapes, which i guess could be considered buy/hold. At a young age in the 1980's I can remember watching, "This Old House" on PBS, as well as, televised house listings which aired on Sunday Mornings. One of my favorite things to do, was when my mom would leave these house, was to clean and rearrange the house as a surprise when she got home. I loved when she would praise me and would cry if she moved something. In high school, I took 4 years of drafting and 2 years of CAD and initially went to college to become an architect. As I grew older, I would drive around neighborhoods, especially the exclusive ones just dreaming of one day owning one. Today I have an amazing wife who is passionate about real estate investing as me, she is my rock. I also have 3 boys who are amazing and mean everything to me and I long to spend more time with my family which is hard as a successful financial treasury manager for a fortune 1000 company. Although I'm grateful of my blessing, deep inside there is the little boy longing to go after his dream and passion. I believe it's time...
