I have a beautiful and supportive wife and 4 kids - 1 just finished college and started his first job, 1 in high school, and 2 in college. With a background in computer programming I stepped out of the industry to help bring my parents' Christian bookstores into the computer age. That was 20 years ago (where did the time go)! Although I heard the advice years ago about creating multiple streams of income, I just stayed content with where I was and I suppose I thought things would always continue as they had. Now, Christian bookstores around the country are struggling to survive against the likes of iTunes and Amazon. 10 years ago I received a transplant kidney from a relative to bring me back among the living. In 2015, my body got wind that there was a foreign object inside and began, without my consent, to destroy it. Eventually, I realized this was happening but the damage was done. I'm still kicking but have to make energy choices these days while I wait and hope for another transplant. [ Update: Received a NEW Kidney transplant in April 2016. Still dealing with some side issue but thanks to my living donor, the kidney function is back to normal ranges! ] Which leads me to my real estate goals.
