Cal is the owner and managing member of 49th Parallel Properties, Ltd., a Texas-based real estate investment company that buys defaulted mortgage notes and distressed single-family real estate in the United States. He also buys distressed single-family homes primarily in Texas and has experience with property rehab/remodels (fix & flips), long-term rentals, wholesaling and “wholetailing”, and, his favorite strategy, buying properties subject-to the existing mortgage and selling with owner financing. Cal is also the principal owner of “My Wealth Locator”, a business that helps individuals and companies recover their equity following a foreclosure or bankruptcy by reconnecting them with excess proceeds held by Government Agencies and Courts, Banks and Foreclosure Trustees. Although being born and raised (and still living) in Alberta, Canada, Cal has been actively involved in single-family real estate investing in the United States since 2009. He has past work experience as a mortgage underwriter for a direct private mortgage lender located in Calgary, Canada. Prior to a career in real estate, Cal has worked as a geologist in various roles and positions in the Oil & Gas and Mineral Exploration sectors. Cal finds joy in helping others grow their personal wealth and retirement savings through real estate and real estate-backed notes.
