My wife and I, Kacy, have been landlords for the last 12 years. Our intentions are buy and hold, but open to all possibilities. We both still work full-time. I am a sales rep for an automation company (IDC), selling efficiency, safety and cost savings through AGC’s (Auto Guided Carts) for material handling in manufacturing and PLC machine controls primarily and still love it and my wife is a special education teacher at the transition level (18-26 yo) level for a local school district and we will continue in these capacities as well for the foreseeable future. During this time we have been through a brain surgery, heart surgery, full hysterectomy and numerous other “set backs”. We have 18 and 16 year old daughters whom we love both immensely. Our 18 yo is our self termed Angel as she has always been a joy, smiled through everything (for the most part;)) and the best friend to her 16 yo autistic/Tuberous Sclerosis diagnosed sister. I tell you all this because...we got into Real Estate with our first building 12 years ago with hopes of providing a place for our 156 yo to be “on her own” someday with a small assisted living facility. This was a four unit in our home town and grew into three 4-unit buildings and two duplexes. We have aspirations of a larger scale care facility supported by standard tenants and retirees in the next 10-15 years. It has been an interesting but awesome journey of faith and hope and we wouldn’t change thing!
