Investing to be financially free to retire by 2025; want ~$3225 (currently, have just under half at $1625) cash flow per month from rental properties to add to our non-rental cash flow, so we can live the happiness formula and enjoy life (e.g., health+serving+giving+social life+money=happiness). We have two SFRs that are free and clear. Started buying a third property in May 2019 as a reverse mortgage to keep it in our family and help with their comfortable life as they age; it will someday either be a rental or our CONUS base station. We rent the first two SFRs out for passive income, are working to pay off our main home quickly, and then will save for a cash purchase of our next rental property in 2022. Continue this save and buy approach in 2025 and many times over in retirement to grow options for children and grandchildren, while it funds our happiness formula to serve others. Other options that we are looking at is either hard money lending or buying rentals using a self-directed IRA to grow IRA fund and later be used as income. Also trying out Fundrise for a completely passive income.
