I am a retired Marine currently working as a contractor in Afghanistan. Working out of country is a two edge blade as I receive a good income but limited when it comes to seeing property. I am searching for references from folks in my area for contacts, trusted agents, inspectors, service people etc. I am interested in meeting and communicating with like minded individuals in my area when I am in town. Experience: I currently have a 2 unit townhouse in Jonesborough, Tn, and a SFH in Jacksonville, NC that I raised my kids in and turned into a rental when I moved. I am purchasing a condo in Thailand. (Complete March 2019 ish) I have a large home in TN that my son lives in. I am renting out 3 of the bedrooms and the downstairs apartment and turned the Master bedroom into a flurishing short term rental. I have owned a number of homes; lived in, renovated and sold over the years. Regretful of the ones I let go instead of turning them into income properties. Real Estate Goals: My goals are establishing long term cash flow from investment property. My interests are in SFH, multi-family units and commercial units. Our children are the only legacy most of us will ever have, I would like my investments to allow my children the financial freedom and security that I have worked for throughout my life. Currently Seeking: My current employment is as a contractor in Afghanistan. This is a double edge blade as my income is excellent but my time in the US is limited. I am looking to network with like minded individuals in my area of TN (Tri-Cities). Searching for properties, recommendations for agents, financing, handymen, contractors and possibly PM. Would like to attend local investor gatherings to share ideas and learn.
